Instructions
- Prepare all the required ingredients.
- Place a small pot with water on the stove to heat up at a medium heat. Place a bowl over the pot. Add honey and coconut oil and let them melt together. Do not boil!
- Meanwhile, toast your nut and seed mix (here we have almonds, pecans and sunflower seeds) on a dry pan at medium heat. Make sure they do not get burnt.
- While liquid and nut mixes are getting ready, place the oatmeal in a large bowl. Crush coconut slices in it. Add chia seeds. Add dried fruits (cut into smaller pieces if needed).
- When the honey and coconut oil is completely melted and thoroughly mixed, set it aside. Crush the toasted nuts, if necessary. (Smaller pieces are best for granola.)
- Add nuts and seed mix to the oatmeal, mix well. Add the honey and coconut oil and thoroughly stir it into granola. Make sure it is evenly covered.
- Take a large baking tray and cover it with a baking paper. Transfer granola to the tray and spread evenly. Make sure there is not too much granola on a tray, which will make it hard to toast and dry. If necessary, use several baking trays.
- Bake granola in an oven at 350 F for about 30 min. Toss it every 7-10 min, so it doesn't get stuck. Make sure it doesn't get burnt.
- When the time is up, check the granola. If it is still wet, turn off the oven and leave it inside until dry. If it is already nice and dry, leave it outside for a little while to cool down. Break up any large chunks with your fingers.
- Now you can prepare your granola gifts! You can use jars and fill them half with granola, half with granola toppings - chocolate, colorful dried fruits like papaya, mango or strawberry, or candies! Wrap each jar with a ribbon and attach a bow. Enjoy the happy moment of giving 🙂
